Recap of the Hi! PARIS Symposium on Robotics, AI, and Society

On June 4th and 5th, ENSTA Paris hosted the 2024 edition of the Hi! PARIS Symposium, a biennial event dedicated to the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence.

This year’s theme was “Robotics, AI, and Society.”

The symposium brought together world-renowned experts to showcase the latest technological innovations and practical applications of AI and robotics in various fields, from social robotics to healthcare, agriculture, and defense.

The event aimed to provide a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences among researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals while exploring the challenges and opportunities posed by these emerging technologies.

The symposium featured plenary sessions, accompanied by a poster session and live robotics demonstrations conducted by industry professionals and faculty from ENSTA Paris and ENSTA Bretagne. These demonstrations covered human-robot interaction, open-environment robotics, and maritime robotics. One highlight was Wandercraft, a French deep tech company, impressing the audience with their exoskeletons that enable paraplegics to walk again.

The event featured 14 talks on robotics from various perspectives, presented by world-renowned robotics scientists: Aude G. Billard, Cyrill Stachniss, Antonio Bicchi, Adriana Tapus, Lee A Bygrave, Mariarosaria Taddeo, Oliver Lemon, Laurel D. Riek, Guy Hoffman, Takayuki Kanda, Robin Murphy, Maurice Fallon, Ronald Arkin and Leila Takayama.

Throughout the two days, there were robotics demo sessions and displays. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore the latest developments and learn from experts worldwide.

A dedicated scientific committee meticulously curated this rich and diverse program: François Goulette, Adriana Tapus, David Filliat, Nicolas Vieille, Xu Philippe and Elena Vanneaux.

We look forward to seeing you at our next Symposium!
